Written by Crafty Spices
Do you eat pineapple?
What do you do with the skin of the pineapple?
Do you just toss it in the trash can, disregard it or what do you do?
Well there are a few thing you can do with it, today we are going to tell you how to make this great and refreshing beverage, one that the entire family can enjoy.
The measurements for the ingredients of this recipe are very subjective and can vary per taste, if at the end of your firs try you would like a more watery beverage just add more water and/ or adjust any of the ingredients.
Ingredients
- The peal of 1 pineapple
- 1 cup White rice
- 1 1/2 Sugar (or to taste)
- 8 cup water

Directions
- In a large pot over medium heat add rice, water and pineapple peal.
- Bring to a boil, stir and continue boiling until the rice is tender, approximately 30 minutes, if it get's to low in water you can add more.
- Let it cool to room temperature, then blend all together.
- Strain and discard the solids (Some people prefer not to strain).
- Slowly add sugar to taste.
- Refrigerate and server very cold.
So now you know, next time you are pealing a pineapple, don't toss the peal.
Enjoy
